Building of Veda patasala / Auditorium
Dear Sir / Madam,
The Veda Dharma Rakshna Sabha was established in the year 1946 to propogate the vedic culture and Hindu Dharma amongst the community in general and the Hindu community in particular through/by
1. Establishing a Veda Patasala in Visakhapatnam.
2. Constructure of Lord Krishna (Sri Guruvayoorappan) temple.
3. Conducting important festivals like
a. Sri Rama Navami
b. Sri Krishnashtami
c. Dasara
d. Deepavali
e. Sri Vinayaka Chaturthi
f. Early morning Dhanurmasa Pujas
g. Conduct of religious discourses and parayanams
h. Conduct of Vedic classes and Nitya Karma Anushtanams
Constributing to charitable causes through poor feeding, free medical camps.
The aspirations of the founder members were realised to a great extent when in the year 1977 the VUDA gave a site measuring 1500 sq. yrds. to the Veda Dharma Rakshna Sabha and Lord Krishna temple was constructed and Maha Kumbhabhishekam of the temple was conducted with the blessings of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipathi on February 4, 1981. Since then daily pujas and important festivals are being conducted.
The important event of Sri Lakshmi Ammavaru Prathishta and Maha Kumbabhishekham was conducted on June 5, 2002.
Although most of the objectives of the Sabha were realised, the ambition of the Sabha to build a Veda Patasala/Kalyana mandapam on its own site could not be fulfilled due to lack of funds.
The temple committee has started the construction of the Veda Patasala /Kalyana Mandapam with the blessings of Mata Brahmanandamai who visited the Sabha premises on 13th and 14th of November, 2004 and conducted bhajans and gave interviews to devotees and redressed their problems.
Municipal approval for the plan for the construction of the Veda Patasala/Kalyana Mandapam has already been obtained.
The foundation (sankushthapana) for the building was done on January 28, 2004 (Rathasapthami Day).
The committee proposes to release a souvenir. The public and private institutions are requested to release advertisements for the proposed souvenir which will be released shortly to help the Sabha in this noble venture. Please see table below for tariff's for the souvenir.
All devotees are requested to donate liberally and help in completing the above Patasala/ Kalyana Mandapam.
We are happy to inform that donations for the above works and advertisements for the souvenir are exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act vide CIT order F. No. Tech. III/74/CIT-1/VSP 2003-2004, valid from April 1, 2004 to March 31 2006.
